Mobile World Congress

CCgroup’s Congress Crunch: Your essential guide to Mobile World Congress 2018

Mobile World Congress (MWC) is a fiercely competitive event – for media and analyst attention; for speaker slots on the conference programme; and for a winning place on the podium at the Global Mobile Awards.

This year CCgroup’s Mobile and Telecoms team is re-launching “Congress Crunch”: A series of blogs – based on our extensive experience supporting clients at MWC –  providing practical advice to those attending the show. Over the next few months, CCgroup’s Mobile and Telecoms team will take you through your MWC journey, explaining where you should be at each stage, and how to make the most of the entire process.

The series will cover a number of the key platforms on offer at MWC 2018, including:

  • The best way to pitch for a speaking opportunity
  • How to be shortlisted for a Global Mobile Award
  • Top tips for attracting media and analyst attention
  • Advice on navigating the show

CCgroup has a long and proud history of supporting both the GSMA and its series of MWC (Barcelona; Shanghai, and this year’s first Americas) and MWC 360 events. In fact, CCgroup has worked with members of the GSMA team for the past two decades, and has attended every single Mobile World Congress.

We have extensive experience of maximising the show for our broad client portfolio in the mobile and telecoms space, which currently includes: network infrastructure providers; network software vendors; a roaming service provider; messaging companies; customer experience experts; IoT and connected car specialists; device recycling and industry consultants. This gives us a unique insight into, and how to make the most of, the various promotional opportunities the show presents.

What’s more, each year, the CCgroup mobile and telecom team relocates to Barcelona for the week. This provides our clients with a bespoke service designed to successfully coordinate a significant amount of activity planned in advance. The work we deliver is not restricted purely to exhibitors. Over the past few years, we have seen an increasing number of delegates attend the show without exhibiting. The show has plenty to offer all companies, regardless of whether or not they take an exhibition stand.

Our first blog will tackle pitching for a speaking slot at Mobile World Congress, ahead of the GSMA deadline of 27th September. If you can’t wait, take a look at our pre-Congress Crunch blogs “MWC 2018: Call for Papers is open … it’s a submission Jim, but not as we know it” and “#MWC2018: Call for Papers … @GSMA tells us what it wants, what it really, really wants!”

We hope you find our advice useful.
