#MWC2018: Call for Papers … @GSMA tells us what it wants, what it really, really wants!

What makes a winning Mobile World Congress speaker submission? And how can we make ours stand out from the crowd? Can we do this in a mere 200 words? These are the thoughts keeping many a telecom PR awake at night.

If only we could read the minds of the GSMA. Well as if by magic, Alejandro Piñero, research manager at the GSMA has answered our pleas for help and posted a blog with some rather useful advice. Quite simply they are looking for ‘innovation, originality, and above all, a compelling story that ties in to the key themes and topics for the event’. Alejandro has even outlined a step-by-step guide for the best submissions, including:

· Avoid buzzwords

· Utilise the sections of the form to structure your submission

· Collaboration and sustainability are key

· Point to research and results

· Everyone loves a demo

He also explains the commitment by the GSMA to close the gender gap in the telecoms and wider tech sectors, in line with UN Sustainable Development Goal #5: To achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. With this in mind, the team is asking for help to ensure that MWC 2018 has the most diverse speaker line-up possible. So, let’s show our support!

If you are still in any doubt as to what a successful submission should look like, then take a look at the ‘Our Top Picks’ section.

Last year CCgroup supported 10 clients at Mobile World Congress, securing 8 speaker slots on stage. So, if you are looking for help with your submission, the Telecoms PR team are on hand to help. Just drop us a line at [email protected].
