Tech Talk: ABI Research's Pierce Owen meets CCgroup to have an #ARchat

The global analyst market sector for Industrial IoT and smart manufacturing is booming, if the latest figures are anything to go by. To help us learn more about this exciting market, we invited ABI Research’s principal analyst for end markets Pierce Owen who kindly accepted and visited the CCgroup Towers this summer.

Pierce led an insightful presentation that covered  topics of interest for any AR pro or comms pro who works with industry analysts. He was 'the man on the inside' and talked about  how industry analysts at ABI Research set their research agendas, how he prefers to connect with the vendor community, as well as giving advice on what to do if you’re stuck and aren’t getting anywhere in your AR outreach to him.

Most interesting insights that Pierce, as a senior analyst, shared with us?

Pierce’s view is that not enough consideration is given to the AR professional, one who tries desperately to help when he is being stonewalled or when a company is unwilling to talk about a development publicly. He takes very kindly to all offers from AR pros putting him in touch with the appropriate spokespeople and was very complimentary of the work ethic of Comms professionals who must balance priorities for a variety of stakeholders. As part of his presentation, Pierce also shared a copy and overview of ABI Research's combined research offerings (available upon request) and shared that his focus is to keep his research fresh, and timely.
